I did this tribute in memory of a friend of mines who committed suicide on July 16, 2010 by overdosing on pills & alcohol. She was 29 years old, and it's still hard to write this thinking about the route she chose to take while facing the problems & challenges in life.
Also what disturbs me about this is that we spoke about the suicide prevention photo shoot i shot & how to never take that route in life regardless of what happens. I wished she would have reached out to me in some way. Or better yet maybe i could have reached out to her to see if everything was ok & if there was something i could have done.
Either way, she is gone in the physical but will always live on through memory.
To anyone who know's anyone dealing with life itself, never take for granted they are fine or will never take it to the limit in ending their life. Sometimes we never know how deep a persons depression is. Peace & Love

Winners & Loosers in Vegas
This shot is interesting to me.. If you see the couple in the back giving each other a High Five, they just won.. The other couple where the guy is in her face, they had just lost.. Like the saying goes, ya win some, ya loose some..
From Frank & the Steins show
This was a photo i took last year at a Halloween Concert & decided to play with some processing for a new feel.
Family Time....
"Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one"
This is a shot i took of a family at the lake one day. Just made me think about family and it's importance on us as people. Something i can speak on from a personal experience.
Fishing Time between Mom & Son
The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness. ~Honoré de Balzac
This woman brought her son out fishing this evening. Thought it was cool she was taking an interest in his passion of fishing & showing him the ropes & giving pointers.
Evening Sunburst
"Peace is the evening star of the soul, as virtue is its sun; and the two are never far apart"
This was a shot i wanted to play with in black n white. I really like the star effect of the sun.
Purple Leaves....
There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.' One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend. He asked her,'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.. Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.'
This is how the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.
Life Is a Gift Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion..
Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.
Before whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet. And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job. And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and think: you're alive and still around.

Peeking Thoughts....
"And if you think you can make it this far without a fight. Couple mistakes here and there, not always right"
A Path Unknown....
"“Every path has its puddle eventually"
I grabbed this shot a few weeks back while at the lake one weekend.
Poison in the Hand
I took this shot of my friends hand one day we were sitting having a conversation.
Wally Points
Anyone that really knows me know that when I'm out & about, i will give an ear to the homeless and listen to their story. I've met some interesting people over the years that were homeless due to various circumstances. Since getting deeper into photography, i often take portraits of the homeless and offer them a picture of themselves if they'd like. I usually turn the situation into a positive one when approached and asked for some change. I will simply reply sure, in exchange you let me take a portrait of you. I have had some decline, but most have found it rather flattering. Some even shed a few tears due to the lost of hope & loneliness from their situation.
This guy's name is Wally. I met Wally at a park where he said this was his pet duck. I have to admit it was a bit odd in the beginning, but after seeing him & the bird interact it was clear to see they had formed some type of bond. Wally had been homeless for 17 years and had a upbeat spirit and positive outlook on life regardless of his situation. I guess I am posting this as a reminder, our situations are never as bad as they seem. Sometimes the most simple things are those that we take for granted because we feel it is a given. Until we are without those things is when we realize how important it was to us. Be thankful and have a blessed day. Peace
